Fabulous
The food here was delicious! They change up their menu sometimes. The dining room was very pleasant and our servers have always been good. Better than a lot of places.
Very strange no art on the walls, no heat food was mediocre doubt I will go back
The Staff, service is amazing. Susan serves with excellence as is the menu!
Cute little place. Waitress was very friendly. Food was delicious and came quite quickly. Would definitely go again.
Nice restaurant, not much choices if you have any allergies.
Very disappointed with the Caesar salad....not even a hint of garlic or parmesean, some kind of sweet vinaigrette with dry hard rye sticks, and a couple flakes of dried up bacon. Mac n cheese was okay but not great. 2 adults one child plus tip came to $75 for a MEH lunch....was expecting better
Just a lovely place to stop in. The bakery next door is just as good.
Brutal. Kitchen got my order wrong and the fries on both our plates were undercooked. Service not great.
The Caesar salad is not a Caesar salad although it appears as Caesar salad on the menu. It has some sweet vinaigrette dressing instead of Caesar dressing. We asked to try another salad dressing but that other dressing was just as bad. The poutine was mediocre. I had better poutine at a fast food place. The pizza was actually good, but it had pesto sauce on it, which is not a good idea. The menu is quite short (they said they reduced it for to COVID-19) so there weren't too many options, and too many items had pork or bacon, which doesn't work for a lot of people.
Jacob's Grill was a great place for lunch and great service! We ordered the hummas dip to start and I got the Margarita pizza as my main. The hummas dip is fanominal!! You must have ot when you go! The pizza was good but not great. It was good pizza but it is not a true margarita pizza if you frequent italian restaurants. :)
Good food, friendly and efficient staff, reasonable prices for this touristy town.
Picked up food and drive home was about 10 minutes. Pepperoni pizza (family size) - this was pretty underwhelming for $18. A nice chewy crust but the cheese was just melted which felt like a heavy blanket. The pepperoni were flavourless. Cesar salad - I wish I had noticed that they give you a vinaigrette instead of a cream based dressing. It didn’t go well. Mac and cheese - pretty flavourless. Add your own salt. Chicken strips - these were the best thing in the bunch. Fries/poutine - these were also really good. Hard to go wrong with fresh cut fries. Smokehouse burger - very dry burger. Barn cheeseburger - very dry burger.
Fish and chips were so good n fresh
Burger and fries were excellent. Nice patio and dog friendly too.
Very good meal. Had to wait for over 1/2 over to get a seat.
Mary our server was great. Food also
The food is really good. Customer service is excellent as well. We ordered the Margherita Pizza, it is really good. We had a few vegetarians in our group, who loved the pizza. The chicken wings - Dry Cajun rub - were decent. We ordered the chicken wrap - grilled version - which was mild and pretty filling. Do visit this place if you are anywhere around St. Jacobs.
First time here, really exceeded my expectations
always great food and friendly service
Great food, great service.
I was in on Tues. For lunch so it wasn't too busy. The staff , Tracey and Mary were very friendly and welcoming . My meal was the beef brisket which was tender and juicy. It was served with sauted mushrooms and onions as well as chalets, and mashed potatoes. Very tasty.
We were there on a Wednesday. They were busy but not ridiculously busy. Clearly understaffed though. When we were finally seated it took 20 minutes for our waitress to show up. We expressed that we were in a bit of a rush but our food then took 35 minutes to arrive (with no complicated orders). When our burger, mac and cheese, and pizza arrived my burger was rare, mac and cheese was blah, and the pizza was decent. The people in line before us (who had a similar order) had received their food, ate, paid the bill, and left before our food arrived. If you're in a pinch, they do have food, staff, and the lights were all on. If not, find another restaurant. I'll definitely never eat there again.
Came here as we were in St Jacobs on a weekday and nothing else was open. We got the house made hummus plate, which supposedly comes with homemade flatbread. It was a very mediocre bowl of hummus with a massive amount of olives and a tiny pile of diced tomatoes sitting atop it. The flatbread looked like dried out toasted tortilla wrap pieces. All of this was shockingly bad considering it was priced at $15, more than the price of most of the entrees on the menu. The fries were good, but it’s hard to mess up fries. Can’t really recommend this place even though the server did her best. Skip and head into Waterloo for better food if nothing else is open!
Upon arrival service was a bit on the slow side found waitress to be good and eager to help. Although the food quality was not of what you would expect of St Jacob's area. Also they had somewhat of a time getting order correct. Not the greatest experience but I wont say will never go again may just bring a sandwich just incase
Went for a big birthday party. Very good meal and very pleasant staff. Sorry the cake was something left to be desired.
The meal is always great here and the service is great too.
Very average food and uninspired service. Schnitzel is a breaded pork chop, nowhere near the real thing.
Very expensive. Not a lot of food for the price.
Pleasant environment, generally good service, tasty food.
Horrible customer service
👍👍👍
Nice staff, food is good.
Great soup
awesome
I had a great experience followed by a not so great experience here two days later. I'll preface this by saying that the food was great both times, the service was inconsistent. I'm 6 months pregnant and my husband and I came in to an empty restaurant. The server told us she had upcoming reservations, so she made us stand and wait for ten minutes while she determined whether or not we could be seated. She then told us that we could come in but we only had an hour and five minutes to eat (odd start, but ok). We said that was fine we just wanted a quick soup! So we sat down in the empty restaurant, and then waited 15 minutes to be served. After she left with our order she came back to tell us that actually we couldn't sit where we were and had to move (again... empty restaurant.... AND I'M PREGNANT). She moved us to an adjacent table (we're obviously pushovers). Then both servers and the bartender all went out back to chat for FIFTEEN MINUTES. The phone rang five times, no-one ever came out, no-one brought our soup. We were eventually served (45 minutes after arriving). The whole thing felt miserable, we had to wait again to get the bill because no-one was on the floor working. It's worth noting that the whole thing took over an hour and by the time we finally were able to leave, the restaurant was still empty...
Food wasn't very good....mac and cheese dried out. Service was pushy and rushed. Wine was good, though.
We came during 'Sparkles' and had the sweet spicy pizza with chicken, jalapenos and pineapples which was great. Environment was good although we were sent into a back room which was away from most of the action. Decent place to grab a bite in St. Jacobs.
As a gluten free and vegan diner I required modifications to the menu offerings. Both the server and kitchen worked to meet these accommodations and the result was a decent meal and great service. As it has been challenging to find vegan eats in St. Jacob's, it has been a comfort to know that there is at least one place that we can return to. On the day of our visit there was a strong rain storm and we couldn't get on the patio, but during the summer, it looks like an enticing spot to stop for a refuel.
Stopped for lunch, excellent menu and a perfect place to rest the feet from exploring St Jacob's .
Good spot for a burger and a beer.
Good food
Fries were amazing.
Hamburg was large and delicious .
great food!
Place has changed in the last year or so. Did not like the food. Very bland. Miss the sweet potatoe fries and dip.
Very nice lunch spot!
Ok
The food was quite good, we'd enjoyed the Tabouleh & a gourmet pizza. Saw lots of people ordering the fish'n'chips. Also, the stack of nachos looked very tempting. A chill place to eat good food.
Love this place especially in September
